Welcome visitors, new members, and community partners: If you are an adult or serve adults experiencing mental health challenges and/or stress, please join or refer those you know to On Our Own of Montgomery County, Inc. We provide mental health peer support and advocacy services.
Join others who have similar experiences and are here to support you at our peer-run center in Olde Towne Gaithersburg. Too often, individuals who have mental health challenges face criticism and stigma at the workplace, and even with family and friends. There is little opportunity to express how you feel or what is on your mind without fear of being judged. It is hard for others to understand what you are going through if they have not experienced it themselves.
On Our Own of Montgomery County is not a clinical center with doctors or therapists. We are all equals and help give each other tools to empower one another to live the fullest life possible. You do not have to pay to benefit from the center.
We are a center that respects the privacy of those we serve. We do not require disclosure of medical diagnosis. Support is given to visitors and members freely and willingly, as our mission is to serve adult men and women. Visitors, new members, and volunteers are welcome to join and/or offer support. Please take a look at our center’s brochure.
All are welcome regardless of race, religion, nationality, political affiliation, ethnicity, ability, age (must be over 18), gender, sexual orientation and gender identity.
